Suzanne O’Connor-McLean currently works as a private consultant with leaders of schools, teachers & organisations helping them build their leadership & organisational capability based on principles of Dr William Glasser’s Choice Theory.
During her professional career in education, Suzanne has worked as a Teacher, Literacy Advisory Teacher, Deputy Principal & School Principal. In more recent years she worked as Executive Director- School-Improvement & Executive Director, School- Performance in Education Queensland across the state.
- Suzanne has Certification in Choice Theory, Reality Therapy, Lead-Management and is a faculty member of Glasser Australia & WGI.
- Suzanne was principal of the first Glasser Quality School in Australia. Dr Glasser personally visited the school in 1996. The school was soon after selected by Ed Qld for a review of exemplary practice to document the Systems- Thinking process used in building the school’s capability to achieve quality performance. The school was also recognised for its Professional Development centre work, hosting State, National & International visitors annually.
- Suzanne has training and experience in professional coaching and mentoring as well as consultancy work. She has training and experience in presentation skills and facilitation of professional learning groups.
- Suzanne’s special areas of interest & expertise in human resource development include implementation of Lead-management principles in developing High Performance Organisational cultures & building Individual & Organisational capability underpinned by a commitment to the principles of Choice-Theory & the application of the Reality Therapy Model applied at an organisational level.
