Jeff Steedman

Jeff is a long term East Gippslander having transferred to Mt Taylor PS as Head Teacher in his early twenties. After working as Head Teacher in a number of schools around the area, he finished his teaching career at Lucknow PS, later retiring and setting himself up as a counsellor and consultant in the 1990s. Jeff has been involved in sport and community groups, having a long stint as committee member and later president of the Bairnsdale Tennis Club. He also started the Bairnsdale Mountain Biking Group and was secretary of the Wilderness Bike Riding Association.

Jeff moved to Elsternwick in 2012 to set up a not for profit charitable organisation called Choice Practice Institute. He moved back to Bairnsdale with his wife Deb in 2018 to continue his work, lifestyle and family connections in beautiful East Gippsland.

Jeff has worked with a huge range of individuals, businesses and organisations over the years developing high quality outcomes through non punitive, non coercive approaches to relationships. He continues his relationship with many of them. Examples are Loy Yang and Hazelwood power stations, Centrelink call centre, ASIC, primary and secondary schools throughout Gippsland, Moogji Aboriginal Corporation, Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Corporation, Lakes Entrance Aboriginal Health Association.

He continues to own and run Riviera Counselling Service and Choice Practice Institute, and is available for face to face counselling work in Bairnsdale as well as providing Skype, Facetime, Viber, and other online counselling modalities to clients based geographically remotely from him.
